16b6055dcb mmc: sdhci: Fix incorrect switch to HS mode

When switching from any MMC speed mode that requires 1.8v
(HS200, HS400 and HS400ES) to High Speed (HS) mode, the system
ends up configured for SDR12 with a 50MHz clock which is an illegal
mode.

This happens because the SDHCI_CTRL_VDD_180 bit in the
SDHCI_HOST_CONTROL2 register is left set and when this bit is
set, the speed mode is controlled by the SDHCI_CTRL_UHS field
in the SDHCI_HOST_CONTROL2 register. The SDHCI_CTRL_UHS field
will end up being set to 0 (SDR12) by sdhci_set_uhs_signaling()
because there is no UHS mode being set.

The fix is to change sdhci_set_uhs_signaling() to set the
SDHCI_CTRL_UHS field to SDR25 (which is the same as HS) for
any switch to HS mode.

This was found on a new eMMC controller that does strict checking
of the speed mode and the corresponding clock rate. It caused the
switch to HS400 mode to fail because part of the sequence to switch
to HS400 requires a switch from HS200 to HS before going to HS400.

e2f1509fca mmc: core: Fix init of SD cards reporting an invalid VDD range
commit 72741084d903e65e121c27bd29494d941729d4a1 upstream.

The OCR register defines the supported range of VDD voltages for SD cards.
However, it has turned out that some SD cards reports an invalid voltage
range, for example having bit7 set.

When a host supports MMC_CAP2_FULL_PWR_CYCLE and some of the voltages from
the invalid VDD range, this triggers the core to run a power cycle of the
card to try to initialize it at the lowest common supported voltage.
Obviously this fails, since the card can't support it.

Let's fix this problem, by clearing invalid bits from the read OCR register
for SD cards, before proceeding with the VDD voltage negotiation.

12a897daa7 mmc: sdhci-of-at91: add quirk for broken HS200

HS200 is not implemented in the driver, but the controller claims it
through caps. Remove it via a quirk, to make sure the mmc core do not try
to enable HS200, as it causes the eMMC initialization to fail.

066a286679 mmc: sdhci-of-esdhc: add erratum eSDHC-A001 and A-008358 support

eSDHC-A001: The data timeout counter (SYSCTL[DTOCV]) is not
reliable for DTOCV values 0x4(2^17 SD clock), 0x8(2^21 SD clock),
and 0xC(2^25 SD clock). The data timeout counter can count from
2^13–2^27, but for values 2^17, 2^21, and 2^25, the timeout
counter counts for only 2^13 SD clocks.
A-008358: The data timeout counter value loaded into the timeout
counter is less than expected and can result into early timeout
error in case of eSDHC data transactions. The table below shows
the expected vs actual timeout period for different values of
SYSCTL[DTOCV]:
these two erratum has the same quirk to control it, and set
SDHCI_QUIRK_RESET_AFTER_REQUEST to fix above issue.

6a783be705 mmc: sdhci-of-esdhc: add erratum eSDHC5 support

Software writing to the Transfer Type configuration register
(system clock domain) can cause a setup/hold violation in the
CRC flops (card clock domain), which can cause write accesses
to be sent with corrupt CRC values. This issue occurs only for
write preceded by read. this erratum is to fix this issue.

dba032038c mmc: core: Verify SD bus width

The SD Physical Layer Spec says the following: Since the SD Memory Card
shall support at least the two bus modes 1-bit or 4-bit width, then any SD
Card shall set at least bits 0 and 2 (SD_BUS_WIDTH="0101").

This change verifies the card has specified a bus width.

AMD SDHC Device 7806 can get into a bad state after a card disconnect
where anything transferred via the DATA lines will always result in a
zero filled buffer. Currently the driver will continue without error if
the HC is in this condition. A block device will be created, but reading
from it will result in a zero buffer. This makes it seem like the SD
device has been erased, when in actuality the data is never getting
copied from the DATA lines to the data buffer.

SCR is the first command in the SD initialization sequence that uses the
DATA lines. By checking that the response was invalid, we can abort
mounting the card.

This is often because davinci_mmcsd_probe lacks a __init

3bd631e536 mmc: omap: fix the maximum timeout setting

When running OMAP1 kernel on QEMU, MMC access is annoyingly noisy:

	MMC: CTO of 0xff and 0xfe cannot be used!
	MMC: CTO of 0xff and 0xfe cannot be used!
	MMC: CTO of 0xff and 0xfe cannot be used!
	[ad inf.]

Emulator warnings appear to be valid. The TI document SPRU680 [1]
("OMAP5910 Dual-Core Processor MultiMedia Card/Secure Data Memory Card
(MMC/SD) Reference Guide") page 36 states that the maximum timeout is 253
cycles and "0xff and 0xfe cannot be used".

Fix by using 0xfd as the maximum timeout.

Tested using QEMU 2.5 (Siemens SX1 machine, OMAP310), and also checked on
real hardware using Palm TE (OMAP310), Nokia 770 (OMAP1710) and Nokia N810
(OMAP2420) that MMC works as before.

cb8251f8d6 Revert "mmc: block: don't use parameter prefix if built as module"

This reverts commit 829b6962f7.

Revert this change as it causes a sysfs path to change and therefore
introduces and ABI regression. More precisely Android's vold is not being
able to access /sys/module/mmcblk/parameters/perdev_minors any more, since
the path becomes changed to: "/sys/module/mmc_block/..."

4afe1affaa mmc: block: Allow more than 8 partitions per card

It is quite common for Android devices to utilize more
then 8 partitions on internal eMMC storage.

The vanilla kernel can support this via
CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK_MINORS, however that solution caps the
system to 256 minors total, which limits the number of
mmc cards the system can support.

This patch, which has been carried for quite awhile in
the AOSP common tree, provides an alternative solution
that doesn't seem to limit the total card count. So I
wanted to submit it for consideration upstream.

This patch sets the GENHD_FL_EXT_DEVT flag, which will
allocate minor number in major 259 for partitions past
disk->minors.

It also removes the use of disk_devt to determine devidx
from md->disk. md->disk->first_minor is always initialized
from devidx and can always be used to recover it.

1394b1bdfd mmc: core: fix using wrong io voltage if mmc_select_hs200 fails
commit e51534c806609c806d81bfb034f02737461f855c upstream.

Currently MMC core will keep going if HS200/HS timing switch failed
with -EBADMSG error by the assumption that the old timing is still valid.

However, for mmc_select_hs200 case, the signal voltage may have already
been switched. If the timing switch failed, we should fall back to
the old voltage in case the card is continue run with legacy timing.

If fall back signal voltage failed, we explicitly report an EIO error
to force retry during the next power cycle.

f2427238c9 mmc: core: shut up "voltage-ranges unspecified" pr_info()

Each time a driver such as sdhci-esdhc-imx is probed, we get a info
printk complaining that the DT voltage-ranges property has not been
specified.

However, the DT binding specifically says that the voltage-ranges
property is optional.  That means we should not be complaining that
DT hasn't specified this property: by indicating that it's optional,
it is valid not to have the property in DT.

Silence the warning if the property is missing.

6a0f5752f1 mmc: sanitize 'bus width' in debug output

The bus width is sometimes the actual bus width, and sometimes indices
to different arrays encoding the bus width. In my debugging case "2"
could mean 8-bit as well as 4-bit, which was extremly confusing. Let's
use the human-readable actual bus width in all places.

c8816bb0ed mmc: pwrseq_simple: Make reset-gpios optional to match doc

The DT binding doc says reset-gpios is an optional property but the code
currently bails out if it is omitted.

This is a regression since it breaks previously working device trees.

a8dea33440 mmc: tmio_mmc_core: don't claim spurious interrupts

I have encountered an interrupt storm during the eMMC chip probing (and
the chip finally didn't get detected).  It turned out that U-Boot left
the DMAC interrupts enabled while the Linux driver  didn't use those.
The SDHI driver's interrupt handler somehow assumes that, even if an
SDIO interrupt didn't happen, it should return IRQ_HANDLED.  I think
that if none of the enabled interrupts happened and got handled, we
should return IRQ_NONE -- that way the kernel IRQ code recoginizes
a spurious interrupt and masks it off pretty quickly...

7404c65cac mmc: spi: Fix card detection during probe

When using the mmc_spi driver with a card-detect pin, I noticed that the
card was not detected immediately after probe, but only after it was
unplugged and plugged back in (and the CD IRQ fired).

The call tree looks something like this:

This finally fixes the wifi regression on Raspberry Pi 3 series.
In error case the wifi chip was permanently in reset because of

a5c4aa9ca5 mmc: omap_hsmmc: fix DMA API warning

While booting with rootfs on MMC, the following warning is encountered
on OMAP4430:

omap-dma-engine 4a056000.dma-controller: DMA-API: mapping sg segment longer than device claims to support [len=69632] [max=65536]

This is because the DMA engine has a default maximum segment size of 64K
but HSMMC sets:

        mmc->max_blk_size = 512;       /* Block Length at max can be 1024 */
        mmc->max_blk_count = 0xFFFF;    /* No. of Blocks is 16 bits */
        mmc->max_req_size = mmc->max_blk_size * mmc->max_blk_count;
        mmc->max_seg_size = mmc->max_req_size;

which ends up telling the block layer that we support a maximum segment
size of 65535*512, which exceeds the advertised DMA engine capabilities.

Fix this by clamping the maximum segment size to the lower of the
maximum request size and of the DMA engine device used for either DMA
channel.

f2eca86eff mmc: core: Reset HPI enabled state during re-init and in case of errors

During a re-initialization of the eMMC card, we may fail to re-enable HPI.
In these cases, that isn't properly reflected in the card->ext_csd.hpi_en
bit, as it keeps being set. This may cause following attempts to use HPI,
even if's not enabled. Let's fix this!

c046fa1ca3 MMC: OMAP: fix broken MMC on OMAP15XX/OMAP5910/OMAP310

Since v2.6.22 or so there has been reports [1] about OMAP MMC being
broken on OMAP15XX based hardware (OMAP5910 and OMAP310). The breakage
seems to have been caused by commit 46a6730e3f ("mmc-omap: Fix
omap to use MMC_POWER_ON") that changed clock enabling to be done
on MMC_POWER_ON. This can happen multiple times in a row, and on 15XX
the hardware doesn't seem to like it and the MMC just stops responding.
Fix by memorizing the power mode and do the init only when necessary.

089440aa80 mmc: sdhci-iproc: fix 32bit writes for TRANSFER_MODE register

When the host controller accepts only 32bit writes, the value of the
16bit TRANSFER_MODE register, that has the same 32bit address as the
16bit COMMAND register, needs to be saved and it will be written
in a 32bit write together with the command as this will trigger the
host to send the command on the SD interface.
When sending the tuning command, TRANSFER_MODE is written and then
sdhci_set_transfer_mode reads it back to clear AUTO_CMD12 bit and
write it again resulting in wrong value to be written because the
initial write value was saved in a shadow and the read-back returned
a wrong value, from the register.
Fix sdhci_iproc_readw to return the saved value of TRANSFER_MODE
when a saved value exist.
Same fix for read of BLOCK_SIZE and BLOCK_COUNT registers, that are
saved for a different reason, although a scenario that will cause the
mentioned problem on this registers is not probable.

3f0491bb89 mmc: jz4740: Fix race condition in IRQ mask update
commit a04f0017c22453613d5f423326b190c61e3b4f98 upstream.

A spinlock is held while updating the internal copy of the IRQ mask,
but not while writing it to the actual IMASK register. After the lock
is released, an IRQ can occur before the IMASK register is written.
If handling this IRQ causes the mask to be changed, when the handler
returns back to the middle of the first mask update, a stale value
will be written to the mask register.

If this causes an IRQ to become unmasked that cannot have its status
cleared by writing a 1 to it in the IREG register, e.g. the SDIO IRQ,
then we can end up stuck with the same IRQ repeatedly being fired but
not handled. Normally the MMC IRQ handler attempts to clear any
unexpected IRQs by writing IREG, but for those that cannot be cleared
in this way then the IRQ will just repeatedly fire.

This was resulting in lockups after a while of using Wi-Fi on the
CI20 (GitHub issue #19).

Resolve by holding the spinlock until after the IMASK register has
been updated.

aaf6dfbd40 mmc: dw_mmc: fix falling from idmac to PIO mode when dw_mci_reset occurs

It was found that in IDMAC mode after soft-reset driver switches
to PIO mode.

That's what happens in case of DTO timeout overflow calculation failure:
1. soft-reset is called
2. driver restarts dma
3. descriptors states are checked, one of descriptor is owned by the IDMAC.
4. driver can't use DMA and then switches to PIO mode.

Failure was already fixed in:
https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-mmc/msg48125.html.

Behaviour while soft-reset is not something we except or
even want to happen. So we switch from dw_mci_idmac_reset
to dw_mci_idmac_init, so descriptors are cleaned before starting dma.

And while at it explicitly zero des0 which otherwise might
contain garbage as being allocated by dmam_alloc_coherent().

3ed000cd76 mmc: avoid removing non-removable hosts during suspend

The Weibu F3C MiniPC has an onboard AP6255 module, presenting
two SDIO functions on a single MMC host (Bluetooth/btsdio and
WiFi/brcmfmac), and the mmc layer correctly detects this as
non-removable.

After suspend/resume, the wifi and bluetooth interfaces disappear
and do not get probed again.

The conditions here are:

 1. During suspend, we reach mmc_pm_notify()

 2. mmc_pm_notify() calls mmc_sdio_pre_suspend() to see if we can
    suspend the SDIO host. However, mmc_sdio_pre_suspend() returns
    -ENOSYS because btsdio_driver does not have a suspend method.

 3. mmc_pm_notify() proceeds to remove the card

 4. Upon resume, mmc_rescan() does nothing with this host, because of
    the rescan_entered check which aims to only scan a non-removable
    device a single time (i.e. during boot).

Fix the loss of functionality by detecting that we are unable to
suspend a non-removable host, so avoid the forced removal in that
case. The comment above this function already indicates that this
code was only intended for removable devices.

Certain 64-bit systems (e.g. Amlogic Meson GX) require buffers to be
used for DMA to be 8-byte-aligned. struct sdio_func has an embedded
small DMA buffer not meeting this requirement.
When testing switching to descriptor chain mode in meson-gx driver
SDIO is broken therefore. Fix this by allocating the small DMA buffer
separately as kmalloc ensures that the returned memory area is
properly aligned for every basic data type.

The stingray SDHCI hardware supports ACMD12 and automatically
issues after multi block transfer completed.

If ACMD12 in SDHCI is disabled, spurious tx done interrupts are seen
on multi block read command with below error message:

Got data interrupt 0x00000002 even though no data
operation was in progress.

This patch uses SDHCI_QUIRK_MULTIBLOCK_READ_ACMD12 to enable
ACM12 support in SDHCI hardware and suppress spurious interrupt.

Currently for DDR50 card, it need tuning in default. We meet tuning fail
issue for DDR50 card and some data CRC error when DDR50 sd card works.

This is because the default pad I/O drive strength can't make sure DDR50
card work stable. So increase the pad I/O drive strength for DDR50 card,
and use pins_100mhz.

This fixes DDR50 card support for IMX since DDR50 tuning was enabled from
commit 9faac7b95e ("mmc: sdhci: enable tuning for DDR50")

Disabling interrupts for even a millisecond can cause problems for some
devices. That can happen when sdhci changes clock frequency because it
waits for the clock to become stable under a spin lock.

The spin lock is not necessary here. Anything that is racing with changes
to the I/O state is already broken. The mmc core already provides
synchronization via "claiming" the host.

Although the spin lock probably should be removed from the code paths that
lead to this point, such a patch would touch too much code to be suitable
for stable trees. Consequently, for this patch, just drop the spin lock
while waiting.

5a86b1150f mmc: core: fix multi-bit bus width without high-speed mode

Commit 577fb13199 ("mmc: rework selection of bus speed mode")
refactored bus width selection code to mmc_select_bus_width().

However, it also altered the behavior to not call the selection code in
non-high-speed modes anymore.

This causes 1-bit mode to always be used when the high-speed mode is not
enabled, even though 4-bit and 8-bit bus are valid bus widths in the
backwards-compatibility (legacy) mode as well (see e.g. 5.3.2 Bus Speed
Modes in JEDEC 84-B50). This results in a significant regression in
transfer speeds.

Fix the code to allow 4-bit and 8-bit widths even without high-speed
mode, as before.

Tested with a Zynq-7000 PicoZed 7020 board.

3a8e217851 mmc: sdhci: Ignore unexpected CARD_INT interrupts

One of our kernelCI boxes hanged at boot because a faulty eSDHC device
was triggering spurious CARD_INT interrupts for SD cards, causing CMD52
reads, which are not allowed for SD devices.  This adds a sanity check
to the interruption path, preventing that illegal command from getting
sent if the CARD_INT interruption should be disabled.

This quirk allows that particular machine to resume boot despite the
faulty hardware, instead of getting hung dealing with thousands of
mishandled interrupts.

According to the code the intention is to append 8 SCK cycles
instead of 4 at end of a MMC_STOP_TRANSMISSION command. But this
will never happened because it's an AC command not an ADTC command.
So fix this by moving the statement into the right function.

842ec27cd3 mmc: sdhci: Fix recovery from tuning timeout

Clearing the tuning bits should reset the tuning circuit. However there is
more to do. Reset the command and data lines for good measure, and then
for eMMC ensure the card is not still trying to process a tuning command by
sending a stop command.

Note the JEDEC eMMC specification says the stop command (CMD12) can be used
to stop a tuning command (CMD21) whereas the SD specification is silent on
the subject with respect to the SD tuning command (CMD19). Considering that
CMD12 is not a valid SDIO command, the stop command is sent only when the
tuning command is CMD21 i.e. for eMMC. That addresses cases seen so far
which have been on eMMC.

Note that this replaces the commit fe5fb2e3b58f ("mmc: sdhci: Reset cmd and
data circuits after tuning failure") which is being reverted for v4.9+.

An interrupt may occur right after devm_request_irq() is called and
prior to the spinlock initialization, leading to a kernel oops,
as the interrupt handler uses the spinlock.

In order to prevent this problem, move the spinlock initialization
prior to requesting the interrupts.
