dac30e3dbd platform/x86: ideapad-laptop: handle ACPI event 1
[ Upstream commit cfee5d63767b2e7997c1f36420d008abbe61565c ]

On Ideapad laptops, ACPI event 1 is currently not handled. Many models
log "ideapad_laptop: Unknown event: 1" every 20 seconds or so while
running on battery power. Some convertible laptops receive this event
when switching in and out of tablet mode.

This adds and additional case for event 1 in ideapad_acpi_notify to call
ideapad_input_report(priv, vpc_bit), so that the event is reported to
userspace and we avoid unnecessary logging.

ccf0904c49 platform/x86: acer-wmi: setup accelerometer when machine has appropriate notify event
commit 98d610c3739ac354319a6590b915f4624d9151e6 upstream.

The accelerometer event relies on the ACERWMID_EVENT_GUID notify.
So, this patch changes the codes to setup accelerometer input device
when detected ACERWMID_EVENT_GUID. It avoids that the accel input
device created on every Acer machines.

In addition, patch adds a clearly parsing logic of accelerometer hid
to acer_wmi_get_handle_cb callback function. It is positive matching
the "SENR" name with "BST0001" device to avoid non-supported hardware.

15696979d8 goldfish: Sanitize the broken interrupt handler
commit 6cf18e6927c0b224f972e3042fb85770d63cb9f8 upstream.

This interrupt handler is broken in several ways:

  - It loops forever when the op code is not decodeable

  - It never returns IRQ_HANDLED because the only way to exit the loop
    returns IRQ_NONE unconditionally.

The whole concept of this is broken. Creating devices in an interrupt
handler is beyond any point of sanity.

Make it at least behave halfways sane so accidental users do not have to
deal with a hard to debug lockup.

commit 5a00b6c2438460b870a451f14593fc40d3c7edf6 upstream.

The commit 1c6c69525b ("genirq: Reject bogus threaded irq requests")
starts refusing misconfigured interrupt handlers. This makes
intel_mid_powerbtn not working anymore.

Add a mandatory flag to a threaded IRQ request in the driver.

commit e74e259939275a5dd4e0d02845c694f421e249ad upstream.

Without this patch, the Asus X45U wireless card can't be turned
on (hard-blocked), but after a suspend/resume it just starts working.

Following this bug report[1], there are other cases like this one, but
this Asus is the only model that I can test.

37e461fc44 ANDROID: goldfish: goldfish_pipe: fix locking errors
If the get_user_pages_fast() call in goldfish_pipe_read_write() failed,
it would return while still holding pipe->lock.

goldfish_pipe_read_write() later releases and tries to re-acquire
pipe->lock.  If the re-acquire call failed, goldfish_pipe_read_write()
would try unlock pipe->lock on exit anyway.

This fixes the smatch messages:

drivers/platform/goldfish/goldfish_pipe.c:392 goldfish_pipe_read_write() error: double unlock 'mutex:&pipe->lock'
drivers/platform/goldfish/goldfish_pipe.c:397 goldfish_pipe_read_write() warn: inconsistent returns 'mutex:&pipe->lock'.

2c5cdadeab toshiba-wmi: Fix loading the driver on non Toshiba laptops
commit 1c80e9603fe8341ed5bea696747d07083d5e0476 upstream.

Bug 150611 uncovered that the WMI ID used by the toshiba-wmi driver
is not Toshiba specific, and as such, the driver was being loaded
on non Toshiba laptops too.

This patch adds a DMI matching list checking for TOSHIBA as the
vendor, refusing to load if it is not.

Also the WMI GUID was renamed, dropping the TOSHIBA_ prefix, to
better reflect that such GUID is not a Toshiba specific one.

bc43565e1a ANDROID: goldfish_pipe: An implementation of more parallel pipe
This is a driver code for a redesigned android pipe.
Currently it works for x86 and x64 emulators with the following
performance results:
  ADB push to /dev/null,
  Ubuntu,
  400 MB file,
times are for 1/10/100 parallel adb commands
x86 adb push: (4.4s / 11.5s / 2m10s) -> (2.8s / 6s / 51s)
x64 adb push: (7s / 15s / (too long, 6m+) -> (2.7s / 6.2s / 52s)

ADB pull and push to /data/ have the same %% of speedup
More importantly, I don't see any signs of slowdowns when
run in parallel with Antutu benchmark, so it is definitely
making much better job at multithreading.

The code features dynamic host detection: old emulator gets
the previous version of the pipe driver code.

69ca969a26 platform/chrome: cros_ec_dev - double fetch bug in ioctl
commit 096cdc6f52225835ff503f987a0d68ef770bb78e upstream.

We verify "u_cmd.outsize" and "u_cmd.insize" but we need to make sure
that those values have not changed between the two copy_from_user()
calls. Otherwise it could lead to a buffer overflow.

Additionally, cros_ec_cmd_xfer() can set s_cmd->insize to a lower value.
We should use the new smaller value so we don't copy too much data to
the user.

7f8150d728 toshiba_acpi: Fix regression caused by hotkey enabling value
commit a30b8f81d9d6fe24eab8a023794548b048f08e3c upstream.

Commit 52cbae0127 ("toshiba_acpi: Change default Hotkey enabling value")
changed the hotkeys enabling value, as it was the same value Windows uses,
however, it turns out that the value tells the EC that the driver will now
take care of the hardware events like the physical RFKill switch or the
pointing device toggle button.

This patch reverts such commit by changing the default hotkey enabling
value to 0x09, which enables hotkey events only, making the hardware
buttons working again.

commit 4db9675d927a71faa66e5ab128d2390d6329750b upstream.

Some Lenovo ideapad models lack a physical rfkill switch.

Here's the branch of chrome platform changes for v4.4. Some have been queued
up for the full 4.3 release cycle since I forgot to send them in for that
round (rebased early on to deal with fixes conflicts).

Most of these enable EC communication stuff -- Pixel 2015 support, enabling
building for ARM64 platforms, and a few fixes for memory leaks.

There's also a patch in here to allow reading/writing the verified boot
context, which depends on a sysfs patch acked by Greg.

b829834016 asus-wmi: fix error handling in store_sys_wmi()
The asus_wmi_get_devstate_simple() returns 0-1 on success. In theory
according to static checkers, it can return either -EIO or -ENODEV on
failure. Currently the error handling code only handles -ENODEV and
-EIO is treated as success. Let's make it handle the -EIO error as
well.

It's possible that it can't actually return -EIO and this patch is not
needed but in that case this patch is harmless and silences a static
checker warning so it's still worth it.

ebaf31c46c platform/chrome: Fix i2c-designware adapter name
Commit d80d134182 ("i2c: designware: Move common probe code into
i2c_dw_probe()") caused the I2C adapter lookup code here to fail for PCI
enumerated i2c-designware because commit changed the adapter name but
didn't update it here.

Fix the I2C adapter lookup by using the "Synopsys DesignWare I2C adapter"

f71c882dd4 ideapad-laptop: Add Lenovo Yoga 900 to no_hw_rfkill dmi list
Like some of the other Yoga models the Lenovo Yoga 900 does not have a
hw rfkill switch, and trying to read the hw rfkill switch through the

This commit adds the Lenovo Yoga 900 to the no_hw_rfkill dmi list, fixing

c789fffc56 ideapad-laptop: include Yoga 3 1170 in add rfkill whitelist
This changes the entry to the whitelist of machines that do not have
a physical rfkill switch. Unfortunately, the Yoga 3 generation seems
to use upper-case letters for the YOGA 3 Pro-1370, while it uses normal
capitalization for its Yoga 3 1170 and 1470 siblings.

In order to catch all variants of the Yoga 3, I'm changing both
the entry for the 1470 (using "Yoga" as the name) and the entry for
the Pro 1370 (using all-caps "YOGA") to not match the exact model number
but only the generation. This way, the 1170 and 1470 models share one
entry, but if the firmware changes from one format to the other, it will
still work.

The second entry for Yoga 2 Pro that was recently added for some
reason ended up not being added in alphanumeric order, and I'm
moving the Yoga 3 1470 entry down while making the change, so they
are sorted more logically.

74caab996c ideapad-laptop: add support for Yoga 3 ESC key
The ideapad-laptop handles most special keys on various Lenovo Laptops
including the Yoga line. Unfortunately, the Yoga 3 11/13/14 models have
one important exception, which is the Fn-ESC combination.

On other Lenovo Laptops, this is FnLock, which switches the function keys
between the primary (Mute, Vol down, Vol up, ...) and the secondary (F1,
F2, F3, ...) behavior. On the new machines, FnLock is only available
through BIOS setup (possibly through a yet-to-be-implemented feature
in this driver) but not through Fn-ESC, but instead the ESC key itself
switched between ESC and a "Paper Display" app for Windows.

Unfortunately, that means that you can never have both ESC *and* the
function keys working at the same time without needing to press Fn on
one of them.
As pointed out in the official Lenovo Forum by dozens of users, this
makes the machine rather useless for any serious work [1].

I have now studied the ACPI DSDT one more time and found the event
that is generated for the ESC key. Unlike all other key events on this
machine, it is actually a WMI, while the other ones are read from the
embedded controller.

I am now installing a WMI notifier that uses the event number from the
WMI subsystem as the scancode. The only event number generated here is
'128', and that fits in nicely with the two existing ranges of scancodes
used by the EC: 0-15 for the 16-bit VPCCMD_R_VPC register, 16-17 for
the VPCCMD_R_NOVO register and 64-67 for VPCCMD_R_SPECIAL_BUTTONS.

The only sane way to handle this button (in absence of the Windows Paper
Display driver) seems to be to have it emit KEY_ESC, so that is what
I use as the default. Should any user ever want to overwrite the default,
they can install their own keymap.

To ensure that we can still build the driver without adding a CONFIG_WMI
dependency, all new code is enclosed in #ifdef.

d618651b0f thinkpad_acpi: Don't yell on unsupported brightness interfaces
The thinkpad_acpi driver currently emits error messages on unsupported
brightness interfaces, giving the impression that someone will implement
those. However, this error is spit out on nearly every thinkpad in
production since 2 years now. Furthermore, the backlight interfaces on
those devices are supported by the i915 driver just fine.

Downgrade the error message to a normal pr_info() and stop telling people
to report it to IBM.

d2f2061994 toshiba_acpi: Initialize hotkey_event_type variable
Commit 53147b6cab ("toshiba_acpi: Fix
hotkeys registration on some toshiba models") fixed an issue on some
laptops regarding hotkeys registration, however, if failed to address
the initialization of the hotkey_event_type variable, and thus, it can
lead to potential unwanted effects as the variable is being checked.

This patch initializes such variable to avoid such unwanted effects.
