Avoid data corruption issues that result in CRC errors during file
transfers over serial ports at higher baud rates.
The current msm_serial driver masks the FIFO Rx interrupts in
msm_start_rx_dma() since Rx FIFO interrupts are not required in DMA
mode. However, msm_complete_rx_dma() re-enables the Rx FIFO interrupts
which could cause RXSTALE event to be processed when a TXLEV interrupt
occurs.
The following is the sequence of events that could occur resulting in
data corruption.
msm_start_rx_dma -> msm_complete_rx_dma -->
spin_unlock_irqrestore(&port->lock) -->
msm_uart_irq()(For TXLEV interrupt) --> msm_handle_rx_dm() (Read from
FIFO resulting in data corruption)
The patch fixes the issue by not restoring the RXLEV and RXSTALE
interrupts in msm_complete_rx_dma(). These interrupts are required only
in FIFO mode.

The hrtimer include isn't used and neither is serial. Drop those
ones. The irq.h header really should be interrupt.h because this
is an interrupt user and not an interrupt chip. Finally add
wait.h for the wake_up*() usage in this driver and kernel.h for
container_of().

The registers that msm_serial_set_mnd_regs() writes only exist on
the non-uartdm hardware, so let's return early here if this
function is called on uartdm hardware. This also prevents us from
messing up the uartclk variable if the uartclk rate happens to be
19.2 or 4.8 MHz.

This header file is only used by the driver, so let's merge the
two together to reduce files and make it easier to see the whole
driver without flipping through two files. This also makes it
easier to use the structures defined in msm_serial.c in the
functions that are defined in msm_serial.h by placing them in the
proper locations.

The msm_find_best_baud() function is written with the assumption
that the port->uartclk rate is fixed to a particular rate at boot
time, but now this driver changes that clk rate at runtime when
the baud is changed.
The way the hardware works is that an input clk rate comes from
the clk controller into the uart hw block. That rate is typically
1843200 or 3686400 Hz. That rate can then be divided by an
internal divider in the hw block to achieve a particular baud on
the serial wire. msm_find_best_baud() is looking for that divider
value.
A few things are wrong with the way the code is written. First,
it assumes that the maximum baud that the uart can support if the
clk rate is fixed at boot is 460800, which would correspond to an
input clk rate of 230400 * 16 == 3686400 Hz. Except some devices
have a boot rate of 1843200 Hz or max baud of 115200, so
achieving 230400 on those devices doesn't work at all because we
don't increase the clk rate unless max baud is 460800.
Second, we can't achieve bauds higher than 460800 that require
anything besides a divisor of 1, because we always call
msm_find_best_baud() with a fixed port->uartclk rate that will
eventually be changed after we calculate the divisor. So if we
need to get a baud of 500000, we'll just multiply that by 16 and
hope that the clk can give us 500000 * 16 == 8000000 Hz, which it
typically can't do. To really achieve 500000 baud, we need to get
an input clk rate of 24000000 Hz and then divide that by 3 inside
the uart hardware.
Finally, we return success for bauds even when we can't actually
achieve them. This means that when the user asks for 500000 baud,
we actually get 921600 right now, but the user doesn't know that.
Fix all of this by searching through the divisor and clk rate
space with a combination of clk_round_rate() and baud
calculations, keeping track of the best clk rate and divisor we
find if we can't get an exact match. Typically we can get an
exact match with a divisor of 1, but sometimes we need to keep
track and try more frequencies. On my msm8916 device, this
results in all standard bauds in baud_table being supported
except for 1800, 576000, 1152000, and 4000000.

The issue with setting up a fixed clock rate at probe is that it would
overwrite the console rate set by the bootloader for its console device.
This would result in serial out corruption or missing log when we system
is booted with earlycon. This is not a issue if we boot system without
earlycon.
This setup is at least not required with the mainline driver, this code
used to be required because the clk_enable() call would fail if
clk_set_rate() wasn't called first.
Originally the issue was noticed on DB410c which is based on APQ8016
chipset.
Without this patch the console log with earlycon would look like:
...
[ 0.000000] RCU: Adjusting geometry for rcu_fanout_leaf=64, nr_cpu_ids=1
[ 0.000000] NR_IRQS:64 nr_irqs:64 0
+HH0.699378] console [ttyMSM0] enabled
[ 0.699378] console [ttyMSM0] enabled
[ 0.702003] bootconsole [uart0] disabled
[ 0.702003] bootconsole [uart0] disabled
...
with this patch I can see all the skipped lines on the console

Use a single common table of struct earlycon_id for both command line
and devicetree. Re-define OF_EARLYCON_DECLARE() macro to instance a
unique earlycon declaration (the declaration is only guaranteed to be
unique within a compilation unit; separate compilation units must still
use unique earlycon names).
The semantics of OF_EARLYCON_DECLARE() is different; it declares an
earlycon which can matched either on the command line or by devicetree.
EARLYCON_DECLARE() is semantically unchanged; it declares an earlycon
which is matched by command line only. Remove redundant instances of
EARLYCON_DECLARE().
This enables all earlycons to properly initialize struct console
with the appropriate name and index, which improves diagnostics and
enables direct earlycon-to-console handoff.

Change the default IPC logging messages to help log analysis instead of
having to change log mask levels and having to re-run the test cases.
Currently single log is used to gather all the driver messages. Split
these into dedicated tx/rx payload log, client ioctl/power state log and
generic driver state log.
Also only dump 32 bytes of the tx/rx payload.

Don't modify the ref count variable clk count inside the runtime callbacks.
Doing so could result in a case where the driver might end up calling a put
twice on the runtime object. The resulting imbalance will leave the runtime
state for the device in a bad state.

As part of the resource voting, both the resource_vote and unvote
functions call the toggle_wakeup_interrupt() function which toggles the
state of the wakeup irq unconditionally. This can cause issues in adverse
scenarios. Instead split this out into exclusive enable and disable wakeup
interrupt functions to be called during the resource unvote and vote
respectively. Also don't make resource votes in the wakeup isr, the
wakeup isr injects a pre-determined byte into the tty flip buffer and
doesn't access the core or setup any transactions and hence doesn't need
to vote for resources.
The driver has registered for the noirq system suspend/resume callbacks.
When executing these callbacks, don't rely on the runtime framework to
check the device's current runtime state before deciding whether to allow
system suspend or not as the runtime framework is disabled at this point.
Instead rely on the power state that the driver maintains internally.

In certain scenarios, it is possible for a close to be called on the tty
port while the rx thread is still processing. In certain scenarios a
race between the 2 threads could lead to unexpected results such as making
BAM API calls after the pipes are disconnected or the thread accessing the
framework structures after they're freed.
Add defensive checks to:
- Check the state of the rx pipes and tty before running the rx work
thread.
- When closing the port, flush the rx work thread and wait till there
are no pending buffers before forcing a close. Currently the shutdown
waits on the flush state of the rx pipe to be in SHUTDOWN , but this
only happens after the rx thread runs, kicks the runtime pm which puts
it in the SHUTDOWN state. But since the port close calls the runtime pm
suspend callback, just wait on the thread to finish the buffer.

particular case the source can be a combination of DMA Tx, DMA Rx, and UART.
Read the register and call the handlers only for sources that request an
interrupt.

Since commit 21947ba654 ("serial: 8250_pci: replace switch-case by

Before, the CRTSCTS flags was silently ignored.

are not available.

commit ff1cab374ad98f4b9f408525ca9c08992b4ed784 upstream.
The BSP team noticed that there is spin/mutex lock issue on sh-sci when
CPUFREQ is used. The issue is that the notifier function may call
mutex_lock() while the spinlock is held, which can lead to a BUG().
This may happen if CPUFREQ is changed while another CPU calls
clk_get_rate().
Taking the spinlock was added to the notifier function in commit
e552de2413 ("sh-sci: add platform device private data"), to
protect the list of serial ports against modification during traversal.
At that time the Common Clock Framework didn't exist yet, and
clk_get_rate() just returned clk->rate without taking a mutex.
Note that since commit d535a2305f ("serial: sh-sci: Require a
device per port mapping."), there's no longer a list of serial ports to
traverse, and taking the spinlock became superfluous.
To fix the issue, just remove the cpufreq notifier:
1. The notifier doesn't work correctly: all it does is update stored
clock rates; it does not update the divider in the hardware.
The divider will only be updated when calling sci_set_termios().
I believe this was broken back in 2004, when the old
drivers/char/sh-sci.c driver (where the notifier did update the
divider) was replaced by drivers/serial/sh-sci.c (where the
notifier just updated port->uartclk).
Cfr. full-history-linux commits 6f8deaef2e9675d9 ("[PATCH] sh: port
sh-sci driver to the new API") and 3f73fe878dc9210a ("[PATCH]
Remove old sh-sci driver").
2. On modern SoCs, the sh-sci parent clock rate is no longer related
to the CPU clock rate anyway, so using a cpufreq notifier is
futile.

The __pm_stay_awake/relax() calls were moved to runtime callbacks as a
means to fix data loss due to race conditions between incoming userspace
commands and executing PM related callbacks.
However calling the __pm_relax (to notify wakeup event processing)
as part of the runtime suspend callback could be race prone between
the system suspend and the runtime framework. If the system suspend
gets to run before the runtime callback, the wakeup event will block
system suspend.
Remove the use of the wakeup source altogether, instead do these:
1. Block system suspend based on the current clk request count and the
RPM state of the device (to detect potential inbound userspace
requests).
2. If the driver is in the process of executing the system suspend
callback, ignore any userspace requests.
3. If the client calls a shutdown without an unvote ioctl, zero out
the client_count vote forcefully to allow suspend.

commit 308bbc9ab838d0ace0298268c7970ba9513e2c65 upstream.
The omap-serial driver emulates RS485 delays using software timers,
but neglects to clamp the input values from the unprivileged
ioctl(TIOCSRS485). Because the software implementation busy-waits,
malicious userspace could stall the cpu for ~49 days.
Clamp the input values to < 100ms.

Some recent (early 2015) macbooks have Intel Broadwell where LPSS UARTs are
PCI enumerated instead of ACPI. The LPSS UART block is pretty much same as
used on Intel Baytrail so we can reuse the existing Baytrail setup code.
Add both Broadwell LPSS UART ports to the list of supported devices.

Pull sparc fixes from David Miller:
1) Finally make perf stack backtraces stable on sparc, several problems
(mostly due to the context in which the user copies from the stack
are done) contributed to this.
From Rob Gardner.
2) Export ADI capability if the cpu supports it.
3) Hook up userfaultfd system call.
4) When faults happen during user copies we really have to clean up and
restore the FPU state fully. Also from Rob Gardner

tty: serial: constify sunhv_ops structs
sparc: Hook up userfaultfd system call
When sysrq is triggered from console, serial driver for SUN hypervisor
console receives a console break and enables the sysrq. It expects a valid
sysrq char following with break. Meanwhile if driver receives 'NULL'
ASCII char then it disables sysrq and sysrq handler will never be invoked.
This fix skips calling uart sysrq handler when 'NULL' is received while
sysrq is enabled.

Initialize the spinlock in of_setup_earlycon() and register_earlycon(),
to fix this for both DT-based and legacy earlycon. If the driver would
reinitialize the spinlock again, this is harmless, as it's allowed to
reinitialize an unlocked spinlock.
Alternatives are:
- Drivers having an early_serial_console_write() that only performs
the core functionality of serial_console_write(), without acquiring
the lock (which may be unsafe, depending on the hardware),
- Drivers initializing the spinlock in their private earlycon setup
functions.
As uart_port is owned by generic serial_core, and uart_port.lock is
initialized by uart_add_one_port() for the normal case, this can better
be handled in the earlycon core.
