bb4c5500c9 tools/perf/build: Fix timerfd feature check
'feature_timerfd' is checked all the time and calculated explicitly,
in a serial fashion. Add it to CORE_FEATURE_TESTS which causes it to
be built in parallel, using the newfangled parallel build autodetection
code.

This shaves 137 msecs off the perf build time on my system, which
speeds up the common case cached build by 43%:

Before:

  comet:~/tip> perf stat --null --repeat 5 make -C tools/perf/

After:

  comet:~/tip> perf stat --null --repeat 5 make -C tools/perf/

9170217510 ARM: 7888/1: seccomp: not compatible with ARM OABI
Make sure that seccomp filter won't be built when ARM OABI is in use,
since there is work needed to distinguish calling conventions. Until
that is done (which is likely never since OABI is deprecated), make
sure seccomp filter is unavailable in the OABI world.

f3db3f4389 ARM: 7885/1: Save/Restore 64-bit TTBR registers on LPAE suspend/resume
LPAE enabled kernels use the 64-bit version of TTBR0 and TTBR1
registers. If we're running an LPAE kernel, fill the upper half
of TTBR0 with 0 because we're setting it to the idmap here (the
idmap is guaranteed to be < 4Gb) and fully restore TTBR1 instead
of just restoring the lower 32 bits. Failure to do so can cause
failures on resume from suspend when these registers are only
half restored.

905b579721 ARM: 7884/1: mm: Fix ECC mem policy printk
ECC policy can be applied to the whole system
when this bit is implemented by SoC vendor
(IMP - bit 9 - in L1 page table entry format).
When this bit is not implemented by SoC vendor
it doesn't mean that system has no other way
how to do ECC.
This patch ensures to show this message only when ECC
is requested via cmd line ecc=on and runs on
appropriate ARM core.

139cc2ba74 ARM: 7882/1: mm: fix __phys_to_virt to work with 64 bit phys_addr_t in BE case
Make sure that inline assembler that expects 'r' operand
receives 32 bit value.

Before this fix in case of CONFIG_ARCH_PHYS_ADDR_T_64BIT and
CONFIG_ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT __phys_to_virt function passed 64 bit
value to __pv_stub inline assembler where 'r' operand is
expected. Compiler behavior in such case is not well specified.
It worked in little endian case, but in big endian case
incorrect code was generated, where compiler confused which
part of 64 bit value it needed to modify. For example BE
snippet looked like this:

N:0x80904E08 : MOV r2,#0
N:0x80904E0C : SUB r2,r2,#0x81000000

when LE similar code looked like this

N:0x808FCE2C : MOV r2,r0
N:0x808FCE30 : SUB r2,r2,#0xc0, 8 ; #0xc0000000

Note 'r0' register is va that have to be translated into phys

To avoid this situation use explicit cast to 'unsigned long',
which explicitly discard upper part of phys address and convert
value to 32 bit. Also add comment so such cast will not be
removed in the future.

7e1a1e9378 xfs: update for v3.13-rc1
For 3.13-rc1 we have an eclectic assortment of bugfixes, cleanups, and
refactoring. Bugfixes that stand out are the fix for the AGF/AGI
deadlock, incore extent list fixes, verifier fixes for v4 superblocks
and growfs, and memory leaks. There are some asserts, warnings, and
strings that were cleaned up. There was further rearrangement of code
to make libxfs and the kernel sync up more easily, differences between

xfs_inactive was reworked, and the preallocation/hole punching code was
 refactored.

52f48d0d9a usbnet: fix status interrupt urb handling
Since commit 7b0c5f21f3
"sierra_net: keep status interrupt URB active", sierra_net triggers
status interrupt polling before the net_device is opened (in order to
properly receive the sync message response).

To be able to receive further interrupts, the interrupt urb needs to be
re-submitted, so this patch removes the bogus check for netif_running().

ec9f1d15db bonding: don't permit to use ARP monitoring in 802.3ad mode
Currently the ARP monitoring is not supported with 802.3ad, and it's
prohibited to use it via the module params.

However we still can set it afterwards via sysfs, cause we only check for
*LB modes there.

To fix this - add a check for 802.3ad mode in bonding_store_arp_interval.

41c1358e91 CIFS: SMB2/SMB3 Copy offload support (refcopy) phase 1
This first patch adds the ability for us to do a server side copy
(ie fast copy offloaded to the server to perform, aka refcopy)

"cp --reflink"

of one file to another located on the same server. This
is much faster than traditional copy (which requires
reading and writing over the network and extra
memcpys).

This first version is not going to be copy
files larger than about 1MB (to Samba) until I add
support for multiple chunks and for autoconfiguring
the chunksize.

It includes:
1) processing of the ioctl
2) marshalling and sending the SMB2/SMB3 fsctl over the network
3) simple parsing of the response

It does not include yet (these will be in followon patches to come soon):
1) support for multiple chunks
2) support for autoconfiguring and remembering the chunksize
3) Support for the older style copychunk which Samba 4.1 server supports
(because this requires write permission on the target file, which
cp does not give you, apparently per-posix). This may require
a distinct tool (other than cp) and other ioctl to implement.

f0d55cc1a6 fbdev changes for 3.13
Nothing particularly stands out in this pull request. The biggest part of the
 changes are cleanups.

Maybe one fix to mention is the "fb: reorder the lock sequence to fix potential
dead lock" which hopefully fixes the fb locking issues reported by multiple
 persons.

There are also a few commits that have changes to arch/arm/mach-at91 and
arch/avr32, which have been acked by the maintainers.

566c09c534 raid5: relieve lock contention in get_active_stripe()
get_active_stripe() is the last place we have lock contention. It has two
paths. One is stripe isn't found and new stripe is allocated, the other is
stripe is found.

The first path basically calls __find_stripe and init_stripe. It accesses
conf->generation, conf->previous_raid_disks, conf->raid_disks,
conf->prev_chunk_sectors, conf->chunk_sectors, conf->max_degraded,
conf->prev_algo, conf->algorithm, the stripe_hashtbl and inactive_list. Except
stripe_hashtbl and inactive_list, other fields are changed very rarely.

With this patch, we split inactive_list and add new hash locks. Each free
stripe belongs to a specific inactive list. Which inactive list is determined
by stripe's lock_hash. Note, even a stripe hasn't a sector assigned, it has a
lock_hash assigned. Stripe's inactive list is protected by a hash lock, which
is determined by it's lock_hash too. The lock_hash is derivied from current
stripe_hashtbl hash, which guarantees any stripe_hashtbl list will be assigned
to a specific lock_hash, so we can use new hash lock to protect stripe_hashtbl
list too. The goal of the new hash locks introduced is we can only use the new
locks in the first path of get_active_stripe(). Since we have several hash
locks, lock contention is relieved significantly.

The first path of get_active_stripe() accesses other fields, since they are
changed rarely, changing them now need take conf->device_lock and all hash
locks. For a slow path, this isn't a problem.

If we need lock device_lock and hash lock, we always lock hash lock first. The
tricky part is release_stripe and friends. We need take device_lock first.
Neil's suggestion is we put inactive stripes to a temporary list and readd it
to inactive_list after device_lock is released. In this way, we add stripes to
temporary list with device_lock hold and remove stripes from the list with hash
lock hold. So we don't allow concurrent access to the temporary list, which
means we need allocate temporary list for all participants of release_stripe.

One downside is free stripes are maintained in their inactive list, they can't
across between the lists. By default, we have total 256 stripes and 8 lists, so
each list will have 32 stripes. It's possible one list has free stripe but
other list hasn't. The chance should be rare because stripes allocation are
even distributed. And we can always allocate more stripes for cache, several
mega bytes memory isn't a big deal.

This completely removes the lock contention of the first path of
get_active_stripe(). It slows down the second code path a little bit though
because we now need takes two locks, but since the hash lock isn't contended,
the overhead should be quite small (several atomic instructions). The second
path of get_active_stripe() (basically sequential write or big request size
randwrite) still has lock contentions.

02e5f5c0a0 md: fix calculation of stacking limits on level change.
The various ->run routines of md personalities assume that the 'queue'
has been initialised by the blk_set_stacking_limits() call in
md_alloc().

However when the level is changed (by level_store()) the ->run routine
for the new level is called for an array which has already had the
stacking limits modified. This can result in incorrect final
settings.

So call blk_set_stacking_limits() before ->run in level_store().

A specific consequence of this bug is that it causes
discard_granularity to be set incorrectly when reshaping a RAID4 to a
RAID0.

This is suitable for any -stable kernel since 3.3 in which
blk_set_stacking_limits() was introduced.

7f2dc5c4bc A set of device-mapper changes for 3.13.
Improve reliability of buffer allocations for dm messages with a small
number of arguments, a couple path group initialization fixes for dm
multipath, a fix for resizing a dm array, various fixes and
optimizations for dm cache, a fix for device mapper's Kconfig menu
 indentation.

 Features added include:
 - dm crypt support for activating legacy CBC TrueCrypt containers
(useful for forensics of these old TCRYPT containers)
 - reduced dm-cache memory requirements for each block in the cache
 - basic support for shrinking a dm-cache's cache (fast) device
 - most notably, dm-cache support for managing cache coherency when
deploying dm-cache with sophisticated origin volumes (that support
hardware snapshots and/or clustering): these changes come in the form
of a new passthrough operation mode and a cache block invalidation
   interface.
