08431ef0ac mmc: core: Use mmc_get_cd_gpio to get cd gpio status in resume path
The change a4d7728mmc(core: Update SD card removal logic based on cd-
gpio state), has introduced logic to read the card presence status in
resume path of mmc_pm_notify(), for forcing card detection if card is
removed. But the API being used for getting gpio status invoking sleep
calls from resume context which shouldn't have any sleep calls.

So updated the resume path with different API for getting cd-gpio
state.

This chagne is not needed 4.9 kernel onwards since the there the
sdhci_get_cd() API has different implementation.

a4d7728953 mmc: core: Update SD card removal logic based on cd gpio state
Update SD card removal event processing logic. Instead of pinging
the card to know the card presence rely on card-detect gpio state.

On multi-card tray designs, the same card-tray would be used for SD
card and SIM cards. If SD card is placed at the rightmost location
in the tray, then SIM card may come in contact with SD card power-
supply while removing the tray. It may result in SIM damage.

For protecting SIM from this issue, in multi-card tray designs,
a h/w fix done such that pmic gets a notification of SD card
removal event (through hardwiring) and it turns off the SD card
voltage regulators immediately. All this will be done much before SD
card driver starts processing card removal event.

To support this design, SD card driver shouldn't turn-on the
regulator while processing card removal event. But the present mmc
driver turns-on regulator (multiple times if the card was in suspend
state). To avoid turning on SD card regulator in card removal path,
updating the card removal processing logic is based on card detect
gpio state.

4753be8c45 mmc: core: hibernation support for mmc cards
eMMC is the storage device for hibernation image. As such it needs
to be working when hibernation image is created and written. Also for
loading hibernation image after reboot, eMMC driver needs to be
probed and running.

During reboot, kernel comes up and does its own eMMC probe and sets
speed for eMMC. A late system call then checks for hibernation image.
If there is a hibernation image, the current kernel will stay only
temporarily.
Once the hibernation image is found and loaded, the temporary kernel
suspends the eMMC device and then gives control to kernel in
hibernation image.
The hibernation image then restores the eMMC device based on the eMMC
driver state saved just before creating hibernation image.
This gives rise to a possible missmatch between the HW state of eMMC
(Specifically the bus speed) when temporary kernel suspends it and the
state driver restores after hibernation restore.
So a synchornization has been done by making the eMMC run in max speed
during:
	1. Just before hibernation image is created (So the driver state
in hibernation image will be for max speed mode).
	2. After reboot, just before temporary kernel loads image and
suspends (so the mmc driver in temporary kernel will put the
eMMC in suspend while HW state is in highest speed mode.
This ensures that the HW state, mmc_resume post the hibernation
expects, will be same as the HW state actually present in the eMMC
at the point of hibernation restore.

This also ensures we save the hibernation image in max performance and
we restore the hibernation image also in max performance.

089440aa80 mmc: sdhci-iproc: fix 32bit writes for TRANSFER_MODE register
commit 5f651b870485ee60f5abbbd85195a6852978894a upstream.

When the host controller accepts only 32bit writes, the value of the
16bit TRANSFER_MODE register, that has the same 32bit address as the
16bit COMMAND register, needs to be saved and it will be written
in a 32bit write together with the command as this will trigger the
host to send the command on the SD interface.
When sending the tuning command, TRANSFER_MODE is written and then
sdhci_set_transfer_mode reads it back to clear AUTO_CMD12 bit and
write it again resulting in wrong value to be written because the
initial write value was saved in a shadow and the read-back returned
a wrong value, from the register.
Fix sdhci_iproc_readw to return the saved value of TRANSFER_MODE
when a saved value exist.
Same fix for read of BLOCK_SIZE and BLOCK_COUNT registers, that are
saved for a different reason, although a scenario that will cause the
mentioned problem on this registers is not probable.

d4a088792f mmc: card: Update multi_cmd_ioctl path to support cmdq
Halt cmdq in multi_cmd_ioctl path before processing IOCTL
commands and un-halt it once it has done with IOCTL processing.

Without this change, the mmc driver would try to process legacy
commands when host & card are in cmdq mode which may result
in unexpected interrupt / illegal command errors.

7716fb9b8f mmc: core: power cycle card when sd card switch voltage operation fails
As per the sd card spec, mmc need to power cycle sd card in case sd
card voltage switch operation fails. Currently we are directly going
for low speed mode without power cycle, which is in violation of sd
card spec. Now we will retry for 10 times in case timeout happens
while switching voltage and at last, in case, it did not succeed in
switching sd card voltage, mmc would go for low speed mode.

Pradeep P V K
4c4c2ded21 mmc: card: WARN_ON in cmdq completion context
Due to command queuing, there is a possibility of servicing
completion of multiple requests from hw irq context. So in
this case, hw irq will launch softirq for all requests which
were completed (irrespective of whether it was success or failure).

If one of the requests failed, then the softirq corresponding
to error ed request will set current cmdq state to CMDQ_STATE_ERR.
Because of this, subsequent completion softirqs for successful
requests will BUG_ON.

We should let higher layers know of completion of successful
requests. Hence change the BUG_ON to WARN_ON and skip
blk_end_request() only if the corresponding request has
an error (instead of checking if the cmdq state is in error)

3f0491bb89 mmc: jz4740: Fix race condition in IRQ mask update
commit a04f0017c22453613d5f423326b190c61e3b4f98 upstream.

A spinlock is held while updating the internal copy of the IRQ mask,
but not while writing it to the actual IMASK register. After the lock
is released, an IRQ can occur before the IMASK register is written.
If handling this IRQ causes the mask to be changed, when the handler
returns back to the middle of the first mask update, a stale value
will be written to the mask register.

If this causes an IRQ to become unmasked that cannot have its status
cleared by writing a 1 to it in the IREG register, e.g. the SDIO IRQ,
then we can end up stuck with the same IRQ repeatedly being fired but
not handled. Normally the MMC IRQ handler attempts to clear any
unexpected IRQs by writing IREG, but for those that cannot be cleared
in this way then the IRQ will just repeatedly fire.

This was resulting in lockups after a while of using Wi-Fi on the
CI20 (GitHub issue #19).

Resolve by holding the spinlock until after the IMASK register has
been updated.

7b76e6a40f mmc: core: Donot fall back to lower speed modes for tuning errors
CRC errors are expected during tuning. MMC driver tries to fallback
to lower speed mode if it encounters consecutive CRC errors.
It should ignore CRC errors observed during tuning and shouldn't
try to fallback.

There is a check present for ignoring CRC errors for SD card
tuning commands. A new check has been added to ignore CRC errors
for eMMC tuning command as well.

f838d89392 Merge "mmc: card: Service RPMB requests with priority over other requests" 2018-04-18 04:50:57 -07:00
Veerabhadrarao Badiganti
b8e9f7e011 mmc: card: Call blk_requeue_request() with queue-lock held
blk_requeue_request() must be called with queue lock held.

If it is called without this lock then there is a chance that block-
queue would be accessed simultaneously by more than one entity (say,
request completion & re-queue) and both can mess-up the queue
pointers which can result in unexpected results.

Veerabhadrarao Badiganti
d3643ee7ff mmc: card: Service RPMB requests with priority over other requests
RPMB requests are initiated from TZ and TZ gets blocked from servicing
other tasks/requests till it completes RPMB request. Delays in
servicing RPMB request may result in system-level stability/performance
issues.

Below is the issue observed:
1. TZ rpmb API is called to update TA rollback information. TZ forwards
the request to HLOS mmc driver via rpmb-service.
2. mmc driver services the rpmb requests only after finishing the
   outstanding IO requests.
3. As part of handling an IO requests, mmc driver makes ICE call
for getting encryption keys, which in-turn makes call to TZ.
4. Since ICE driver finds TZ is busy/blocked it returns ice request
   with -EBUSY error.
5. The failed requests with -EBUSY error would re-queued back.
6. The IO requests keep getting failed and keep getting re-queued
and mmc driver never gets a chance to service rpmb requests.
7. This results in a deadlock senario.

So RPMB requests need to be serviced immediately.
If there is any outstanding RPMB request, then mmc driver should stop
pulling any more new requests. The moment its done with serving
ongoing requests, It should start processing RPMB request.

1f57af666c mmc: core: Add retuning to cmdq path
In cmdq mode, do tuning if required before issueing request to
controller. This is required when we are in HS200 or HS400 without
enhanced strobe mode and we had gated the clock. So after ungating the
clock, do retuning.

34f009cf75 mmc: core: implement enhanced strobe support
Controllers use data strobe line to latch data from devices
under hs400 mode, but not for cmd line. So since emmc 5.1, JEDEC
introduces enhanced strobe mode for latching cmd response from
emmc devices to host controllers. This new feature is optional,
so it depends both on device's cap and host's cap to decide
whether to use it or not.

aaf6dfbd40 mmc: dw_mmc: fix falling from idmac to PIO mode when dw_mci_reset occurs
commit 47b7de2f6c18f75d1f2716efe752cba43f32a626 upstream.

It was found that in IDMAC mode after soft-reset driver switches
to PIO mode.

That's what happens in case of DTO timeout overflow calculation failure:
1. soft-reset is called
2. driver restarts dma
3. descriptors states are checked, one of descriptor is owned by the IDMAC.
4. driver can't use DMA and then switches to PIO mode.

Failure was already fixed in:
https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-mmc/msg48125.html.

Behaviour while soft-reset is not something we except or
even want to happen. So we switch from dw_mci_idmac_reset
to dw_mci_idmac_init, so descriptors are cleaned before starting dma.

And while at it explicitly zero des0 which otherwise might
contain garbage as being allocated by dmam_alloc_coherent().

3ed000cd76 mmc: avoid removing non-removable hosts during suspend
[ Upstream commit de8dcc3d2c0e08e5068ee1e26fc46415c15e3637 ]

The Weibu F3C MiniPC has an onboard AP6255 module, presenting
two SDIO functions on a single MMC host (Bluetooth/btsdio and
WiFi/brcmfmac), and the mmc layer correctly detects this as
non-removable.

After suspend/resume, the wifi and bluetooth interfaces disappear
and do not get probed again.

The conditions here are:

 1. During suspend, we reach mmc_pm_notify()

 2. mmc_pm_notify() calls mmc_sdio_pre_suspend() to see if we can
suspend the SDIO host. However, mmc_sdio_pre_suspend() returns
-ENOSYS because btsdio_driver does not have a suspend method.

 3. mmc_pm_notify() proceeds to remove the card

 4. Upon resume, mmc_rescan() does nothing with this host, because of
the rescan_entered check which aims to only scan a non-removable
device a single time (i.e. during boot).

Fix the loss of functionality by detecting that we are unable to
suspend a non-removable host, so avoid the forced removal in that
case. The comment above this function already indicates that this
code was only intended for removable devices.

[ Upstream commit a627f025eb0534052ff451427c16750b3530634c ]

The ls1046a datasheet specified that the max SD clock frequency
for eSDHC SDR104/HS200 was 167MHz, and the ls1012a datasheet
specified it's 125MHz for ls1012a. So this patch is to add the
limitation.

99593ab021 mmc: sd: limit SD card power limit according to cards capabilities
The SD card specification allows cards to error out a SWITCH command
where the requested function in a group is not supported. The spec
provides for a set of capabilities which indicate which functions are
supported.

In the case of the power limit, requesting an unsupported power level
via the SWITCH command fails, resulting in the power level remaining at
the power-on default of 0.72W, even though the host and card may support
higher powers levels.

This has been seen with SanDisk 8GB cards, which support the default
0.72W and 1.44W (200mA and 400mA) in combination with an iMX6 host,
supporting up to 2.88W (800mA). This currently causes us to try to set
a power limit function value of '3' (2.88W) which the card errors out
on, and thereby causes the power level to remain at 0.72W rather than
the desired 1.44W.

Arrange to limit the selected current limit by the capabilities reported
by the card to avoid the SWITCH command failing. Select the highest
current limit that the host and card combination support.

0fd49331f9 mmc: sdhci-of-esdhc: add/remove some quirks according to vendor version
commit 1ef5e49e46b919052474d9b54a15debc79ff0133 upstream.

A previous patch had removed esdhc_of_platform_init() by mistake.
static void esdhc_of_platform_init(struct sdhci_host *host)
{
	u32 vvn;

	vvn = in_be32(host->ioaddr + SDHCI_SLOT_INT_STATUS);
	vvn = (vvn & SDHCI_VENDOR_VER_MASK) >> SDHCI_VENDOR_VER_SHIFT;
	if (vvn == VENDOR_V_22)
		host->quirks2 |= SDHCI_QUIRK2_HOST_NO_CMD23;

	if (vvn > VENDOR_V_22)
		host->quirks &= ~SDHCI_QUIRK_NO_BUSY_IRQ;
}

This patch is used to fix it by add/remove some quirks according to
verdor version in probe.
