9578a87b8f mmc: host: sdhci-msm-ice: Initialize local variable in ice_cmdq_cfg()
Uninitialized key_index local variable in sdhci_msm_ice_cmdq_cfg() would
be passed as it is to sdhci_msm_ice_hci_update_cmdq_cfg()
/sdhci_msm_ice_update_cfg() when request is not valid. So initialize
this variable with right value.

Without this change, its causing KW warning.

3970ec5d3d mmc: core: Use mmc_reset instead of power_restore
On 4.4 kernel, 'commit 364549ddc2 ("mmc: core: Remove
redundant ->power_restore() callback for MMC")' removed
power_restore callback for MMC since mmc_reset is
implemented. Hence use reset instead of power_restore in
mmc_cmdq_hw_reset. Also modify the caller function mmc_cmdq_hw_reset
to properly use the mmc_reset.

ea7ba3abc3 mmc: core: Do regular power cycle when lacking eMMC HW reset support
The eMMC HW reset may be implemented either via the host ops ->hw_reset()
callback or through DT and the eMMC pwrseq. Additionally some eMMC cards
don't support HW reset.

To allow a reset to be done for the different combinations of mmc hosts
and eMMC/MMC cards, let's implement a fallback via trying a regular power
cycle. This improves the mmc block layer retry mechanism of failing I/O
requests.

cf05282438 Merge "mmc: cmdq_hci: Avoid releasing clock twice during DCMD error" 2017-05-01 23:56:55 -07:00
Vijay Viswanath
00229f96af mmc: cmdq_hci: Avoid releasing clock twice during DCMD error
When erase DCMD commands fail, a completion notification may get raised
by host controller for the task in addition to error interrupt. This
can result in the done function of mmc request getting called twice
and release the clock twice and mess up the clock request counter. The
done function should be called only once for DCMD commands except flush
commands.

4c2bdc5879 mmc: core: Update the logic of controlling clk scaling through sysfs
mmc clock scaling can be disabled/enabled through sysfs.
The present logic in this path deregisters/registers with devfreq
every time. Instead of this, we can simply suspend/resume the clock
scaling when requested for disabling/enabling clock scaling.
This patch updates the mentioned logic.

With original logic, observed deadlock between devfreq registration
and cmdqd thread in low memory conditions. The updated logic fixes
this deadlock condition aswell.

b74ba9dd91 mmc: sdhci-esdhc-imx: increase the pad I/O drive strength for DDR50 card
commit 9f327845358d3dd0d8a5a7a5436b0aa5c432e757 upstream.

Currently for DDR50 card, it need tuning in default. We meet tuning fail
issue for DDR50 card and some data CRC error when DDR50 sd card works.

This is because the default pad I/O drive strength can't make sure DDR50
card work stable. So increase the pad I/O drive strength for DDR50 card,
and use pins_100mhz.

This fixes DDR50 card support for IMX since DDR50 tuning was enabled from
commit 9faac7b95e ("mmc: sdhci: enable tuning for DDR50")

bd7cf09fbe mmc: core: fix bus-width selection in HS400 mode
During card initialization, for hs400 enhanced strobe
mode we already set the bus width to 8 as part of
mmc_select_hs400.
i.e: mmc_init_card->mmc_select_timing->mmc_select_hs400

Commit 5a86b1150f ("mmc: core: fix multi-bit bus width
without high-speed mode") modified bus width selection mode
for hs400(mmc_select_bus_width is being called twice now)
which is resulting in switch command failure(-110 error).

Fix this by adding condition to check if hs400 is supported
before bus-width selection.

26e54a44f6 mmc: core: Increase the runtime PM reference count in try_claim_host
Runtime PM reference count is being increased in mmc_claim_host() and
is decreased in mmc_release_host(). This reference count is kept
during the complete cycle of a claim -> release host.

Same need to be done even in mmc_try_claim_host() as well. Increase
the runtime PM reference count by invoking pm_runtime_get_sync() from
mmc_try_claim_host() upon first successful claim.

Without this change the runtime PM reference count goes for a toss
since count is not getting incremented in mmc_try_claim_host() but is
getting decremented in mmc_release_host().

0cbf1d2db7 mmc: sd: reduce the bus speed in case of multiple CRC errors in SDR104
UHS-I SD cards support SDR104 mode which runs the SD card interface
clock upto 208 MHz. But we may see repeated CRC errors in SDR104
with some SDCC controllers. If this happens, this change would
reinit the card to lower speed (SDR50) hoping that CRC error
rate would reduce at lower clock speed (100MHz for SDR50).

On Certain chipsets, SDR104 mode might be unstable causing CRC error on

52e40a2fcc mmc: sdhci: Do not disable interrupts while waiting for clock
commit e2ebfb2142acefecc2496e71360f50d25726040b upstream.

Disabling interrupts for even a millisecond can cause problems for some
devices. That can happen when sdhci changes clock frequency because it
waits for the clock to become stable under a spin lock.

The spin lock is not necessary here. Anything that is racing with changes
to the I/O state is already broken. The mmc core already provides
synchronization via "claiming" the host.

Although the spin lock probably should be removed from the code paths that
lead to this point, such a patch would touch too much code to be suitable
for stable trees. Consequently, for this patch, just drop the spin lock
while waiting.

20bc196762 mmc: host: sdhci-msm: Skip reading GENERICS register in check_pwr_status
Skip checking the SWITCHABLE_SIGNALING_VOLTAGE bit of MCI_GENERICS
register while checking power status on SDHC v5.0 onwards.

This bit shows whether controller supports switching of IO signaling
voltage or not. On SDHC v5.0, switchable signaling voltage support
is present by default and this bit was removed. So we can skip checking
this bit in case of v5.0 controller.

Without this patch, driver tries to read a non-existing bit field which is
causing driver to proceed without waiting for pwr-irq. In some case its
turning off the clock even before pwr irq finishes thus resulting in
un-clocked access errors.

57dd904196 mmc: sdhci-msm: Change pm_qos cpu groups latency to PM_QOS_DEFAULT_VALUE
In current pm_qos implementation - when the new pm_qos vote request
comes, the previous cpu group where pm_qos vote was put
is determined and removed if the current cpu group is different
than previous.

If the pm_qos vote of performance mode latency is put during
initialization, there can be a case where this vote will never be
released - since during init phase we can't cache the prev pm_qos cpu
group (pm_qos_prev_cpu = -1). Thus during the actual I/O sdhci_request
the pm_qos_prev_cpu will be -1 and unless the request comes once onto
each of those cpu group, the pm_qos voting can never be released.

Hence change this pm_qos vote for all cpu groups to PM_QOS_DEFAULT_VALUE
during init phase.

192cfe16ca mmc: bus: Handle error in case bus_ops suspend fails
bus_ops->suspend may fail due to some reason
(for e.g. due to flush timeout). In such cases,
if we return error to PM framework from here without
calling pm_generic_resume then mmc request may get stuck
since PM framework will assume that mmc bus not suspended
(because of error) and it won't call resume again.

Thus fix this by calling pm_generic_resume in case of error
from bus_ops->suspend in mmc_bus_suspend.

7246b95041 mmc: mmc: Handle error case in mmc_suspend
Currently in case if suspend is failed due to some
reason then the error case is not handled properly :-
1. w.r.t. suspend_clk_scaling claim_host counters are going bad.
2. In case of any error after halting and disabling cmdq -
the error is returned to the PM framework and it assumes that
card is not suspended, whereas CQ remains disabled. This causes
I/O requests hangs since no request can be processed any further.

Fix this by handling error cases properly.

d2499ee89d Merge "mmc: core: Retry claim host in mmc_sd_detect" 2017-03-04 10:12:54 -08:00

e9cc73402e mmc: core: Retry claim host in mmc_sd_detect
Use mmc_try_claim_host with a timeout instead of mmc_claim_host in
mmc_sd_detect. This is to ensure that mmc rescan work item is doesn't
get blocked on claim_host for longer period.

In the pm_suspend path, we cancel the mmc_rescan work item.
If this work item is already scheduled, suspend would be blocked till
mmc_rescan gets finished. In case, mmc_rescan is blocked on claim_host
lock, pm_suspend could get blocked for longer period. This can result
in momentary UI freeze since pm_suspend is blocked for longer duration.
This change is to prevent this scenario.

2c7676c7d7 mmc: card: block: Add support for completing cmdq requests with error
Add support for completing failed cmdq requests with error.

If any cmdq request is failed, we enter into error recovery path and
re-queue the same request. But in some cases (e.g. requests failed due
to invalid crypto configuration) same request shouldn't be re-queued
but should complete the request with error so that the a new requested
would be issued.

In mmc_blk_cmdq_complete_rq(), for a request if error information is
present and flag which indicates to skip error handling is set
then complete that request with error info.
