We had a deprecated_attr_warn() warning for 2 years and now the time has
come and we finally can do the cleanup.
The plan was as follows:
: per-stat sysfs attributes are considered to be deprecated.
: The basic strategy is:
: -- the existing RW nodes will be downgraded to WO nodes (in linux 4.11)
: -- deprecated RO sysfs nodes will eventually be removed (in linux 4.11)
:
: The list of deprecated attributes can be found here:
: Documentation/ABI/obsolete/sysfs-block-zram
:
: Basically, every attribute that has its own read accessible sysfs
: node (e.g. num_reads) *AND* is accessible via one of the stat files
: (zram<id>/stat or zram<id>/io_stat or zram<id>/mm_stat) is considered
: to be deprecated.
The patch also removes `obsolete/sysfs-block-zram', clean ups
`testing/sysfs-block-zram' and tweaks zram.txt files.

debug_stat sysfs is read-only and represents various debugging data that
zram developers may need. This file is not meant to be used by anyone
else: its content is not documented and will change any time w/o any
notice. Therefore, the output of debug_stat file contains a version
string. To avoid any confusion, we will increase the version number
every time we modify the output.
At the moment this file exports only one value -- the number of
re-compressions, IOW, the number of times compression fast path has
failed. This stat is temporary any will be useful in case if any
per-cpu compression streams regressions will be reported.

commit c456442cd3a59eeb1d60293c26cbe2ff2c4e42cf upstream
Add the sysfs file for the new vulerability. It does not do much except
show the words 'Vulnerable' for recent x86 cores.
Intel cores prior to family 6 are known not to be vulnerable, and so are
some Atoms and some Xeon Phi.
It assumes that older Cyrix, Centaur, etc. cores are immune.

Pull f2fs update from Jaegeuk Kim:
"In this round, we've mainly focused on performance tuning and critical
bug fixes occurred in low-end devices. Sheng Yong introduced
lost_found feature to keep missing files during recovery instead of
thrashing them. We're preparing coming fsverity implementation. And,
we've got more features to communicate with users for better
performance. In low-end devices, some memory-related issues were
fixed, and subtle race condtions and corner cases were addressed as
well.
Enhancements:
- large nat bitmaps for more free node ids
- add three block allocation policies to pass down write hints given by user
- expose extension list to user and introduce hot file extension
- tune small devices seamlessly for low-end devices
- set readdir_ra by default
- give more resources under gc_urgent mode regarding to discard and cleaning
- introduce fsync_mode to enforce posix or not
- nowait aio support
- add lost_found feature to keep dangling inodes
- reserve bits for future fsverity feature
- add test_dummy_encryption for FBE
Bug fixes:
- don't use highmem for dentry pages
- align memory boundary for bitops
- truncate preallocated blocks in write errors
- guarantee i_times on fsync call
- clear CP_TRIMMED_FLAG correctly
- prevent node chain loop during recovery
- avoid data race between atomic write and background cleaning
- avoid unnecessary selinux violation warnings on resgid option
- GFP_NOFS to avoid deadlock in quota and read paths
- fix f2fs_skip_inode_update to allow i_size recovery
In addition to the above, there are several minor bug fixes and clean-ups"

Pull f2fs updates from Jaegeuk Kim:
"In this round, we've followed up to support some generic features such
as cgroup, block reservation, linking fscrypt_ops, delivering
write_hints, and some ioctls. And, we could fix some corner cases in
terms of power-cut recovery and subtle deadlocks.
Enhancements:
- bitmap operations to handle NAT blocks
- readahead to improve readdir speed
- switch to use fscrypt_*
- apply write hints for direct IO
- add reserve_root=%u,resuid=%u,resgid=%u to reserve blocks for root/uid/gid
- modify b_avail and b_free to consider root reserved blocks
- support cgroup writeback
- support FIEMAP_FLAG_XATTR for fibmap
- add F2FS_IOC_PRECACHE_EXTENTS to pre-cache extents
- add F2FS_IOC_{GET/SET}_PIN_FILE to pin LBAs for data blocks
- support inode creation time
Bug fixs:
- sysfile-based quota operations
- memory footprint accounting
- allow to write data on partial preallocation case
- fix deadlock case on fallocate
- fix to handle fill_super errors
- fix missing inode updates of fsync'ed file
- recover renamed file which was fsycn'ed before
- drop inmemory pages in corner error case
- keep last_disk_size correctly
- recover missing i_inline flags during roll-forward
Various clean-up patches were added as well"

commit 87590ce6e373d1a5401f6539f0c59ef92dd924a9 upstream.
As the meltdown/spectre problem affects several CPU architectures, it makes
sense to have common way to express whether a system is affected by a
particular vulnerability or not. If affected the way to express the
mitigation should be common as well.
Create /sys/devices/system/cpu/vulnerabilities folder and files for
meltdown, spectre_v1 and spectre_v2.
Allow architectures to override the show function.

Pull f2fs updates from Jaegeuk Kim:
"In this round, we introduce sysfile-based quota support which is
required for Android by default. In addition, we allow that users are
able to reserve some blocks in runtime to mitigate performance drops
in low free space.
Enhancements:
- assign proper data segments according to write_hints given by user
- issue cache_flush on dirty devices only among multiple devices
- exploit cp_error flag and add more faults to enhance fault
injection test
- conduct more readaheads during f2fs_readdir
- add a range for discard commands
Bug fixes:
- fix zero stat->st_blocks when inline_data is set
- drop crypto key and free stale memory pointer while evict_inode is
failing
- fix some corner cases in free space and segment management
- fix wrong last_disk_size
This series includes lots of clean-ups and code enhancement in terms
of xattr operations, discard/flush command control. In addition, it
adds versatile debugfs entries to monitor f2fs status"

commit 5138806f16c74c7cb8ac3e408a859c79eb7c9567 upstream.
IIO_CHAN_INFO_RAW was returning processed data which was incorrect.
This also adds the IIO_CHAN_INFO_SCALE value to convert to a processed value.

This driver adds support for the STM CoreSight IP block, allowing any
system compoment (HW or SW) to log and aggregate messages via a
single entity.
The CoreSight STM exposes an application defined number of channels
called stimulus port. Configuration is done using entries in sysfs
and channels made available to userspace via configfs.

The sysFS "status" entry conveys a wealth of information about
the status of the HW but goes agains the sysFS rule of one topic
per file.
This patch rectify the situation by adding read-only entries for
each of the field formaly displayed by "status". The ABI
documentation is kept up to date.

Some STM devices adjust software assigned master numbers depending on
the trace source and its runtime state and whatnot. This patch adds
a sysfs attribute to inform the trace-side software that master numbers
assigned to software sources will not match those in the STP stream,
so that, for example, master/channel allocation policy can be adjusted
accordingly.

This CL adds a new class to monitor and change
dual role usb ports from userspace. The usb
phy drivers can register to the dual_role_usb
class and expose the capabilities of the ports.
The phy drivers can decide on whether a specific
attribute can be changed from userspace by
choosing to implement the appropriate callback.

commit bf5ce5bf3cc7136fd7fe5e8999a580bc93a9c8f6 upstream.
Commit 655fe4effe ("usbcore: add sysfs support to xHCI usb3
hardware LPM") introduced usb3_hardware_lpm sysfs node. This
doesn't show the correct status of USB3 U1 and U2 LPM status.
This patch fixes this by replacing usb3_hardware_lpm with two
nodes, usb3_hardware_lpm_u1 (for U1) and usb3_hardware_lpm_u2
(for U2), and recording the U1/U2 LPM status in right places.
This patch should be back-ported to kernels as old as 4.3,
that contains Commit 655fe4effe ("usbcore: add sysfs support
to xHCI usb3 hardware LPM").

Sorry for the delay in this patch which was mostly caused by getting the
merger of the mpt2/mpt3sas driver, which was seen as an essential item of
maintenance work to do before the drivers diverge too much. Unfortunately,
this caused a compile failure (detected by linux-next), which then had to be
fixed up and incubated. In addition to the mpt2/3sas rework, there are
updates from pm80xx, lpfc, bnx2fc, hpsa, ipr, aacraid, megaraid_sas, storvsc
and ufs plus an assortment of changes including some year 2038 issues, a fix
for a remove before detach issue in some drivers and a couple of other minor
issues.

Change st driver to allow enabling or disabling debug output
via sysfs file /sys/bus/scsi/drivers/st/debug_flag.
Previously the only way to enable debug output was:
1. loading the driver with the module parameter debug_flag=1
2. an ioctl call (this method was also the only way to dynamically
disable debug output).
To use the ioctl you need a second tape drive (if you are
actively testing the first tape drive) since a second process
cannot open the first tape drive if it is in use.
The this change is only functional if the value of the macro
DEBUG in st.c is a non-zero value (which it is by default).

disappointed for 4.3-rc1 that we didn't contribute enough changesets,
you should be happy with this pull request of over 2400 patches.
But overall we removed more lines of code than we added, which is nice
to see. Full details in the shortlog.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while"
Greg, I've never been disappointed in how few commits Staging
contributes to the kernel.. Never.

Here is the big USB patchset for 4.4-rc1.
As usual, most of the changes are in the gadget subsystem, and we
removed a host controller for a device that is no longer in existance,
and probably never was even made public. There is also other minor
driver updates and new device ids, full details in the changelog.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while.
